Q: Where can I find information about food, shelter and other family assistance?
A: Aloha United Way's 211 line is the best resource. They are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week. By phone: 2-1-1 by mobile or 808-275-2000 by mobile or landline.
Q: I lost my medicine in the evaccuation. Can AlohaCare help?
A: Yes. Please call AlohaCare at 808-973-0712. A one-time emergency medication supply is available.

AlohaCare reminds all of its members that our island home can be impacted by severe weather events including hurricanes, storms and tsunamis. Hawaii experiences hurricane season from June to November. We care about you and your family’s well-being, and urge everyone to be prepared.

In Case of Emergency:
If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Emergency services are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week without prior authorization.
BE PREPARED
Your Emergency Kit should include the following:
- 14-day supply of food and water
- Prescription medication
- Batteries or solar powered radio, flashlight and extra batteries for both
- Important documents sealed in a plastic bag
- Whistles, matches, blankets and tarps
- Personal safety and hygiene products including face masks
- First aid kit and medical supplies
- Pet’s food, medications and supplies
- Products for cleaning and sanitizing
As the storm approaches:
- Make and review an emergency family plan
Know your escape routes and understand what each family member needs to do in case of separation, evacuation and communication with loved ones.
- Check in with your neighbors
Senior adults should have a plan during the emergency and may require additional assistance and supplies.
Make sure if you or anyone in your family has a disability, that you have the necessary supplies and equipment needed during an emergency.
